Astronomy Geeks in NE Florida
I pulled this data from heavens-above.com a few days ago (it's currently having issues), but we should have a Starlink Train tonight that will be fairly easy to see if we can avoid the clouds.
Clouds were very favorable in south Jax and could easily see it naked eye. Counted 21 in the train.
Decent train tonight at 50 degree altitude, with a clear-sky forecast at the moment. Tomorrow's will be even better with the train passing directly overhead.
Pretty clear skies tonight and train was easily naked eye visible.
Good train tonight peaking between 50-60 degrees starting around 20:34.
Really solid Starlink train on Wednesday evening if we can get some clear skies (forecast seems solid).
Saturday morning at about 5am I watched a Starlink train come into view almost directly overhead and head into the N/NE direction. About a 10 to 15 second distance between each satellite. Saturday evening (after KSC visit) we stopped at the Fairgrounds to see if we could see the northern lights. A sad no on that... but we saw the ISS, and (we believe) the Chinese space station, a few shooting stars... and from the W/NW a blast of yet another StarLink Train. This later one was very condensed, the entire length was only a few degrees in length. It was a sight to behold!!!
This past Sunday, Chrissy and I were on the back patio. Bose speakers on loud playing heavy metal, having a few drinks.. and I was busy looking up.. About 932pm, from west to east ward travel, I saw the train overhead. I pointed to it and Chrissy was.. WTF is that??? We spent the next few minutes watching them come into view and fade into the east. Even the next day she was still... I cant believe we saw that. I just had to share.
